After participating in the run portion of a relay with Kim Hartman in the 2004 Alcatraz Challenge I discovered that I wanted to participate in the swim. Consequently, at age 51 I learned to swim CORRECTLY and trained for the 2005 Alcatraz Challenge. One crossing and I was hooked. In the words of Gary Emich, I may now have to join AA...Alcatraz Anonymous. I live 600 miles away so it may take a LONG TIME to get to 100 crossings, but that is my goal.
